Process/Product Development Engineer

Summary:  We are looking for a hands-on engineer with competency in process and product development as it relates to gas sensor fabrication. Process experience should include thin film deposition, lithography, stepper, etch and metrology/characterization. The Company’s core technology involves functionalized carbon nanotube based semiconductor devices providing a versatile platform for use in a variety of chemical detection applications. This is a ground floor position and key to driving the Company’s product development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the core team to understand and define product requirements
  • Development new or modified processes and methods for the fabrication and evaluation of carbon nanotube based semiconductor sensor devices
  • Write Process characterization protocols and Product specifications to meet commercialization timelines
  • Characterize, compile, and analyze test data to define process and material specifications
  • Work with outside vendors to facilitate machine characterization, process transfer and material procurement

Qualifications: 

    • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or equivalent experience.
    • Experience with semiconductor processing and gas sensors are essential.
    • Experience with design of experiments, short loops, recipes, process sequences.
    • Prior Gas Sensor Engineering experience in Product and/or Process development
    • Innovative, self-motivated professional, able to operate independently
    • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with WW technical network
    • Flexibility with work schedule to accommodate international supply chain

Algorithm Development Engineer

Summary:  Alpha Szenszor Inc. is looking for a skilled Algorithm Development Engineer/Scientist to be part of a strong startup team delivering electronic nose technology for health and wellness applications. Research, design, and develop computer software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development. Development of machine learning algorithms; machine learning, Artificial Intelligence, neural networks, for purpose of pattern learning and disease state detection through information extracted from real-time gas sensor data.

Responsibilities

  • Sensor signal analysis and processing
  • Pattern recognition and Calibration algorithm development for Gas Sensors
  • Integration of algorithms in pre-operational software and operational processors
  • Design, preparation and execution of final test programs

Qualifications: 

  • Advanced Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics or related fields, preferably a PhD focused on Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning, with 3+ years relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Matlab, or equivalent, for algorithm design and data analysis.
  • Practical experience with design, implementation and analysis of learning algorithms (eg. PCA, DFA) preferably in the context of gas sensor development.
  • Proficiency in database management and knowledge of mobile APP design and development is a plus.

Gas Lab Technician

Summary:  Alpha Szenszor Inc. is looking for a skilled Lab Technician to be part of a strong startup team delivering electronic nose technology for health and wellness applications in Lowell, MA.Operate and maintain Lab Equipment, including Gas Calibration Units, Device testers, and analytical equipment, while executing shop orders in support of scientific staff.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all lab equipment: gas supplies and calibration units, DI water, analytics (CG/MS), microscopy, and electrical testing
  • Manage inventory, shipping, receiving and general housekeeping
  • Perform device testing and characterization while maintainig records
  • Maintain spares and manage material inventories

Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years experience in Gas Analysis Lab environment
  • Ability to work with Process Engineering and Scientists in a Development effort
  • MS Office literate and able to process technical reports
  • Strong electro-mechanical and machine diagnostic skills
  • Innovative, self-motivated professional, able to operate independently

  • HS or upper level education
